Gujarat to Get Its Own CBSE Regional Office

Ahmedabad: The state of Gujarat, which has seen an increasing number of CBSE-affiliated schools, has been relying on the Ajmer regional office of the Central Board for administrative and academic coordination. However, this will soon be a thing of the past, as the CBSE is planning to establish a regional office in Gujarat, headquartered in Ahmedabad.

As per news reports, a temporary office has been identified in Chandkheda, while plans are underway to acquire land for a permanent facility. If all goes as planned, the office could start functioning by November.

A senior CBSE official, Anil Thakur, visited the city to assess the situation before the opening of the office, which is slated within a month. While the idea of a state office has been discussed previously, Thakur’s visit marks a concrete step toward making it a reality. CBSE officials have confirmed that the Gujarat regional office will begin operations shortly.

Nearly 600 CBSE schools operate in Gujarat. School managements have long requested a dedicated state office to relieve the administrative burden of dealing with the Ajmer region. DeshGujarat
