ACB Gujarat nabs another computer operator in bribe case
October 09, 2025
Bhavnagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed one Rasikbhai Ghanshyambhai Rathod, a computer operator (outsourced) posted at the Deputy Collector’s office in Shihor, red-handed, allegedly for accepting a bribe of ₹32,000.
According to the ACB, after the death of the complainant’s uncle, the complainant’s aunt, along with her two sons, who are the legal heirs of the deceased, sought to have the inheritance rights recorded in their names for a piece of joint agricultural land located at Totaniyala, Taluka Vallabhpur. The complainant’s aunt applied to the Vallabhpur Mamlatdar’s office to register the inheritance in her and her children’s names. However, due to discrepancies in the names, the Mamlatdar’s office rejected the application. Subsequently, an appeal was filed with the office of the Deputy Collector, Shihor, Bhavnagar.
Even though the appeal order was duly passed and signed, accused Rasikbhai Rathod demanded a bribe of ₹32,000 from the complainant in order to process a copy of the order and have the inheritance officially recorded.
The complainant, unwilling to pay the bribe, contacted the ACB and filed a complaint against the accused. On this basis, the ACB today set up a bribe trap, during which the accused met the complainant and was caught on the spot accepting the bribe, thereby committing the offense. DeshGujarat
