Gujarat CM meets ISRO Chairman Dr. V. Narayan, Astronaut Subhanshu Shukla

Mehsana: ISRO Chairman Dr. V. Narayan, along with Group Captain Subhanshu Shukla, the first ISRO astronaut to visit the International Space Station, today met with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on the sidelines of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Mehsana.
During the discussion, Dr. Narayan highlighted the achievements of ISRO and the Space Applications Centre in Ahmedabad, noting that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India has successfully launched over 90 satellites in the past 11 years. He emphasized that India has emerged as a self-reliant nation in space research among developed countries.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, in a tweet, said, “Had an insightful interaction with Dr. V. Narayan, Chairman, ISRO, who was accompanied by Group Captain Subhanshu Shukla. Expressed enthusiasm about Gujarat’s expanding footprint in the space-tech and defence sectors. With ISRO’s plan to establish India’s second-largest spaceport in the Diu–Veraval coastal region, shared how the space economy will play a transformative role in realizing the vision of Viksit Gujarat@2047.”
On meeting with Subhanshu Shukla, the CM wrote, “Congratulated Group Captain Subhanshu Shukla on his remarkable mission to the International Space Station and commended ISRO’s pioneering contributions to India’s space advancement.” DeshGujarat
