Stray Cattle Menace: Youth Killed in Junagadh

Junagadh: Residents of Junagadh are frustrated and angered over the persistent problem of stray cattle on city roads. In yet another tragic incident, a youth traveling from Keshod to Junagadh was injured after a stray bull suddenly appeared in the middle of the road, causing the him to fall. The injured youth later succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The police have registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem, after which it will be handed over to the family.
Locals expressed outrage, stating that the problem of stray cattle has existed for a long time. Several residents claimed that anytime they go on the road, stray cattle suddenly appear, leading to accidents.
The issue is not limited to Junagadh alone but is prevalent across Gujarat, where stray cattle have been responsible for numerous accidents and fatalities. The Gujarat High Court has repeatedly reprimanded municipal authorities and corporations for failing to control stray cattle, but despite directives, officials have struggled to manage the problem, putting public safety at risk.
