Rajkot: Two minors, a 16-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, both claiming to be Pakistani citizens, were found in the forest area of Ratanpar village in the Khadir island region of Vagad in Kutch on Wednesday and have been taken into police custody for questioning.
Officials said villagers spotted the pair at a temple in Ratanpar village of Khadir and informed the authorities. Both belong to the Bhil community and are residents of Tharparkar district in Pakistan.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that the two entered India by crossing a damaged section of the border fence. “They claimed to be lovers and left home following a family dispute,” said Sagar Bagmar, Superintendent of Police, Kutch (East). It is evident that they had left home four days ago with two liters of water and some food. Meanwhile, evidence of their nationality could not be obtained, and a detailed investigation is underway in coordination with various security agencies. DeshGujarat
