ACB Gujarat nabs Class-1 and Class-2 CGST officers in bribery case

Vapi: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today apprehended two officers of the CGST and Central Excise office in Vapi for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹2,000.
The arrested accused include Kapil Natwarlal Jain (35), an Assistant Accountant Officer, Group-B, Class-2, and Ravishankar Shyamakant Zha (47), a Class-1 officer posted as Senior Accountant Officer. Both are working at the CGST and Central Excise Office in Vapi.
The complainant had received an order for flower pots at the CGST and Central Excise office in Vapi. When the payment for the approved bills was delayed, the complainant contacted the accused regarding the matter. To process the bills, the accused demanded a bribe of ₹2,000.
The complainant refused to pay and approached the ACB, which then planned a trap. During the sting operation, the complainant met Kapil Jain, who demanded and accepted ₹2,000. Both accused were immediately caught red-handed at the scene, and the ₹2,000 bribe was recovered from them. DeshGujarat
