Train operation to begin on Dahod–Jhabua rail line likely in early 2026

Dahod: The Railways are planning to operate trains on the Dahod–Jhabua section of the 204 km-long Dahod–Indore railway line in the initial months of 2026. This comes as a unique railway station under the project nears completion. The station is notable for spanning two states: half of it is located in Bawdi village on the Madhya Pradesh border, while the other half falls in Uchvaniya village in Dahod district, Gujarat.
Construction work has now reached its final stage, with most major components such as the platform, main building, passenger shed, foot overbridge, and staff quarters completed. The station, situated around 3–3.5 km from Pitol in Jhabua, forms a critical part of the Dahod–Indore rail project and is expected to be named Pitol Railway Station.
The railway line between Dahod and Katwara village has been laid, and trial runs have already been conducted. Electric line pillars have also been installed along the route. Additionally, while the Jhabua station has already been completed, the Pitol station is now almost ready for operations, marking a significant milestone in the cross-border rail connectivity project.
