Ekta Prakash Parv 2025 kicks off at SOU with dam light-and-sound shows, themed lighting

Rajpipla: Ekta Nagar is all set to host the National Unity Day celebrations on 31st October 2025 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The festivities will also include Diwali celebrations which is falling on 20th October.

Ekta Nagar has already been illuminated with spectacular night tourism attractions, including laser shows, dam light-and-sound shows, the Narmada Maha Aarti, the Unity Glow Garden, and themed lighting across the city to enhance visitor experiences. In what is possibly a first in India, the Ekta Prakash Parv was inaugurated on 17th October 2025, featuring an extensive 7.6 km stretch of artistic, theme-based lighting.

The Ekta Prakash Parv, organized as part of the National Unity Day celebrations and the Diwali festival, will continue until 15th November 2025. The festival aims to instill a sense of unity, culture, and patriotism among visitors while promoting night tourism through spectacular themed lighting displays. The entire city of Ekta Nagar has been decorated with vibrant illuminations, creating a mesmerizing experience for tourists.

Rakeshbhai, visiting Ekta Nagar with his family from Vadodara, said, “Seeing the hoardings of Ekta Prakash Parv along the way was impressive. But experiencing the festival at night was truly delightful. The lighting makes it feel like Diwali is being celebrated here with everyone. It’s an excellent initiative by the government, and I would encourage all visitors to witness this festival.”

Rima Shah, visiting from Mumbai, added, “We came to Ekta Nagar for a two- to three-day family trip. We have explored various projects here, all of which are wonderful. The lighting for Ekta Prakash Parv is spectacular. The tourism projects are spread across a vast area, and the overall ambiance is very beautiful. Our family has thoroughly enjoyed the experience and encourages others to visit as well.”

The festival features two major lighting zones across Ekta Nagar.

Zone 1: From Ekta Dwar to the Statue of Unity, a 7 km stretch has been decorated with lighting poles, gantry motifs, displays of government schemes, tourist attractions, and illuminations on buildings and trees along the main road. Additionally, a specially designed dynamic Dam Light and Sound Show has been arranged at the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam, viewable from Dam Viewpoint 1, allowing visitors to experience the dam and surrounding views at night.

Zone 2: The 530-meter stretch from the main road to the Valley of Flowers has been divided into 13 sections featuring ceiling lights, various lighting articles, and theme-based selfie points/photobooths inspired by ISRO, Operation Sindhu, and other creative concepts. This includes representations of birds, animals, art forms, trees, flowers, religious symbols, machines, planets, and the solar system.

Additionally, a 140-meter walkway from the Valley of Flowers to the main road has been turned into a glow tunnel divided into seven thematic sections. Visitors can enjoy themes such as the Statue of Unity, Jungle Safari, Cactus Garden, Butterfly Garden, Northern Narmada Parikrama, various religious sites, and space-related installations.
