Over 250 PG Additional Medical Seats Allotted to Gujarat
October 18, 2025
Ahmedabad: The central government has approved a significant expansion of postgraduate (PG) medical seats across the country ahead of the upcoming admission cycle, adding more than 11,000 seats in government and self-financed medical colleges. In Gujarat, over 250 additional PG medical seats have been allotted across government and medical society-run institutions.
According to state health officials, the decision aims to meet the growing need for specialist doctors and strengthen both medical education and healthcare infrastructure in the state. With this expansion, Gujarat’s medical colleges will be able to train more postgraduate students in critical fields such as general medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and gynecology.
The admission process for the newly sanctioned seats will begin soon under the supervision of the Admission Committee for Professional Postgraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPPGMEC). This expansion will benefit NEET-PG qualified candidates who previously missed out due to limited availability of seats. DeshGujarat
