Ahmedabad Police bust rave party in Shilaj; 20 including foreigners held

Ahmedabad: Bopal police busted a rave party at Zephyr Stays Farm House in the upscale Shilaj area of the city, seizing alcohol, hookahs, and other items. Around 20 individuals, including 13 foreign nationals, were arrested from the scene.

According to an official press release, the Ahmedabad Rural Police received credible intelligence that a liquor party was underway at Zephyr Stays Farm House in the Bopal Police Station area. Acting on the tip, the Police Inspector of Bopal Police Station, along with officers of the LCB/SOG and female police personnel, conducted a successful raid at the location.

During the raid, the police arrested a total of 20 accused individuals who were consuming foreign liquor and seized items valued at around ₹6,57,750, including alcohol and hookahs.

The following items were seized from the spot:

  • 29 sealed bottles of various foreign liquor brands worth ₹52,050

  • 22 beer tins worth ₹3,960

  • 6 open or partially filled glass bottles worth ₹0

  • 4 glass tumblers worth ₹40

  • 17 plastic glasses worth ₹0

  • 13 hookahs with plastic pipes worth ₹13,000

  • 15 packets of hookah flavors worth ₹0

  • 4 packets of charcoal worth ₹0

  • 62 entry passes (tickets) worth ₹0

  • 19 mobile phones worth ₹48,500

  • Cash amounting to ₹40,200

  • One TUV 300 car (registration no. GJ-01-RZ-1093) worth ₹5,00,000

The police also stated that a case has been registered at Bopal Police Station under relevant sections of the Prohibition Act — 65(E), 116(B), 66(1)(B), 75(A), 85(1)(3), 81, 84, and 86. Further investigation is underway.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a young man named John had organized the event titled “Hot Grabber Party.” Party passes were sold for amounts ranging from ₹700 to ₹15,000. The special passes explicitly mentioned alcohol and shisha, promising unlimited drinks. The DJs performing at the event were also foreign nationals.
