Minister Panseriya makes surprise visit to Gujarat health dept, issues warning on food adulteration

Gandhinagar: On the first working day of the Gujarati New Year, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare (Independent Charge) Praful Panseriya paid a surprise visit to the Health and Family Welfare Department. During his visit, the minister guided officers and staff to serve people with compassion, humanity, and spirituality, an official note said.

Minister Panseriya inspected all branches of the department, interacted with employees, and expressed confidence that with continued teamwork and cooperation, Gujarat’s healthcare services will soon rank among the best in the nation.

Recalling India’s proactive response during the COVID-19 pandemic, the minister said that the country’s healthcare system swiftly developed necessary facilities through hard work and innovation. He added that in the coming days, the department will focus on new research initiatives and effective time management, ensuring patient-centric care with empathy and devotion.

Issuing a stern warning against food adulteration, Minister Panseriya said that no individual involved in such a heinous act will be spared. He cautioned offenders to mend their ways or face strict action in the near future.

He further announced that the Health Department will soon launch a Mega Cleanliness Drive across all healthcare facilities — from Civil Hospitals to Community Health Centres (CHCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs).

During the minister’s surprise visit, Additional Chief Secretary Dhananjay Dwivedi, Health Commissioner (Rural) Dr. Ratankuwar Gadhvicharan, Health Commissioner (Urban) Harshad Patel, and several other senior officials and staff members of the department were present. DeshGujarat
