Food for Thought Fest 2025 in Ahmedabad: Two Themes, Three Pavilions; Spain, Netherlands, Nepal to Participate

Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), in collaboration with the South Asian Association for Gastronomy (SAAG), will organize the ‘Food for Thought Fest’ from November 13 to 16, 2025, at the Sabarmati Riverfront Event Centre.

More than just a food festival, Food for Thought Fest is a celebration of culinary creativity, cultural exchange, and shared experiences. Designed to appeal to both food enthusiasts and entertainment lovers, the event will bring together flavours and ideas from across the world. This year, apart from India, Nepal, Spain, and the Netherlands will also participate, giving the festival a truly international flavour.

The international food festival will serve as a unique platform for discussions, recipe sharing, and the exchange of ideas in the field of gastronomy. Alongside well-known chefs, critics, and culinary experts, the event will also feature live demonstrations, new dish explorations, and activities promising an unforgettable family experience.

Among the distinguished participants are renowned food critic and writer Rashmi Uday Singh, celebrated chefs Abhijit Saha and Gautam Maharshi, Nepalese writer Rohini Rana, and Padma Shri awardee Dr. Pushpesh Pant.

The festival will include live cooking workshops and food shows led by master chefs from across South Asia. Two themed food courts — ‘A Taste of Luxury’ and ‘The Regional Flavor’ — will offer a wide variety of dishes. While luxury hotels will showcase their signature creations, The Regional Flavor section will feature vibrant street food experiences from different regions.

Three distinctive pavilions will also be set up:

  • The Luxury Pavilion, featuring signature dishes from prestigious hotels.

  • The Spiritual Pavilion, offering a unique experience with “Bhog Prasad” from the Jagannath Temple in Puri.

  • The Coffee Pavilion, dedicated to coffee lovers, with live roasting, brewing sessions, and interactive workshops.

The festival aims to serve as a hub of inspiration for students and professionals in the hospitality and food industries. It will provide learning and networking opportunities for hotel management students, food bloggers, and entrepreneurs, helping them explore emerging techniques, trends, and South Asian food traditions.

Since its inception in 2015, the South Asian Association for Gastronomy (SAAG) has carved a niche for itself in promoting food and cultural exchange across the region. Food for Thought Fest continues to be a celebration of taste, culture, and ideas, and this year’s edition promises to offer Ahmedabad’s food lovers an experience to remember. DeshGujarat
