Gujarat to mark 150 years of Vande Mataram with public singing at Schools, Colleges from Nov 7

Gandhinagar: Gujarat will join the nationwide celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of the composition of India’s national song “Vande Mataram” on 7th November, spokesperson Minister Jitubhai Vaghani said.

A state-level program will be held at the Gujarat Legislative Assembly premises in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. During the program, the original version of “Vande Mataram” will be sung, and participants will take the Swadeshi oath.

Minister Vaghani highlighted the historic significance of “Vande Mataram,” saying that “the song united the entire freedom movement and became a symbol of national pride. The Prime Minister has inspired programs across the country to honor the song, which will also be celebrated across Gujarat.”

On 7th November, the original version of “Vande Mataram” will be sung and the Swadeshi oath taken in all municipalities, in the presence of state ministers, district officials, mayors, and district police chiefs.

Additionally, the state police band will perform tunes based on “Vande Mataram” and other patriotic songs in public spaces in Gandhinagar and district headquarters. From 7th November to 26th November, the national song will be sung publicly at schools, colleges, universities, government offices, and other public places.
