Rain gone; Winter to kick off in Gujarat as IMD predicts dip in minimum temperature

Gandhinagar: After the heavy spell of unseasonal rain in the last week of October, winter is set to kick in across Gujarat as November spreads its wings.

According to the latest weather forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today, dry weather is expected to prevail across the state and neighboring regions over the next week.

The forecast indicates that south-westerly to westerly winds are currently prevailing at lower levels, contributing to cooler conditions.

The IMD states that over the next seven days, dry weather is expected across all districts, including Saurashtra-Kutch, Gujarat plains, and the UTs. Minimum temperatures are likely to remain stable during the next 24 hours, followed by a gradual fall of 2–3°C over the following six days, signaling the onset of winter.

For Ahmedabad and surrounding areas, partly cloudy skies are expected, with minimum temperatures hovering around 22°C on 6th November. No weather warnings have been issued for the upcoming week.

Notably, with the weather clearing up, open-air fairs such as the Kartiki Purnima Fair in Siddhpur, Gujarat, and the Pushkar Mela in Rajasthan have kicked off. This comes after the Lili Parikrama of Girnar, which begins from Kartak Sud Gyras and culminates on Kartik Purnima, was washed out due to unseasonal rain that damaged the route. DeshGujarat
