ACB Gujarat nabs Class 1 officer, accomplice in bribe case

Morbi: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed a Class-1 government officer and his accomplice for allegedly accepting a bribe.
As per the ACB, the complainant’s company was engaged in installing solar panels and had installed two solar plants for two companies. To ensure the timely installation of electric meters and to avoid interference with the solar plants, accused Mineshbhai Arjanbhai Jadav, posted as Deputy Engineer, Class-1, PGVCL Divisional Office-1, allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹20,000 from the complainant.
The complainant approached ACB Rajkot Rural after refusing to pay the bribe. During the staged trap, accused Mineshbhai engaged the complainant in conversation and instructed his accomplice, Praveenbhai Nanajibhai Makasna, to collect the bribe. Makasna accepted ₹20,000 from the complainant, after which both accused were apprehended at the scene, with evidence confirming their collusion in committing the offence. DeshGujarat
