Rabid stray dog attacks 15 in North Gujarat village; killed in nearby village

Dhanera: Panic gripped Kunwarla village in Dhanera on Monday evening after a rabid dog attacked villagers, leaving 15 people injured, including a three-year-old girl and residents aged up to 80 years.

The dog first targeted the young girl in Thakor Vas around 7 PM, causing serious head and eye injuries. She was immediately taken to Deesa Civil Hospital and later shifted to Patan Dharpur Medical College for further treatment. The attack left bite marks on the girl’s skull.

The dog then continued to roam the village throughout the night, attacking villagers working in fields and injuring several on the head, eyes, and legs. All the injured received medical attention at the village Primary Health Center, and most have since returned home. The rabid dog later reached the nearby Surava village, where locals fatally shot it to prevent further attacks.
