Dang: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has apprehended a Gram Rojgar Sevak and her husband in Dang in a bribe case involving a sum of ₹32,800.
According to ACB officials, the complainant had prepared files for land-levelling work for four applicants in his village under the Mahatma Gandhi MGNREGA scheme. When he approached Anusuyaben Hemantbhai Patel (47), a contract-based Gram Rojgar Sevak at the MGNREGA branch of the Subir Taluka Panchayat Office, she allegedly demanded ₹8,200 per applicant, totalling ₹32,800, for forwarding the proposal for administrative approval.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB, which then organised a trap. During the planned operation, accused Anusuyaben directed the complainant to hand over the bribe amount to her husband, Hemantbhai Vinubhai Patel, who then accepted the money. The trap was executed near Vipulbhai Gamit’s shop, located opposite the main gate of the Subir Taluka Panchayat Office.
ACB officials recovered the entire bribe amount of ₹32,800 from the accused at the spot. Both were arrested for accepting illegal gratification. DeshGujarat
