GujRERA suspends registration of Takshashila’s More Towers project in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Real Estate Regulatory Authority (GujRERA) has suspended the registration of the proposed high-rise project ‘More Towers’, being developed adjacent to Takshashila Air near Ellisbridge Town Hall and behind M.J. Library in Ahmedabad. The decision comes after the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) cancelled the development permission granted for the project.

The project is promoted by builder Kamlesh Gondalia and his son Parthiv, directors of Takshashila Heights India Pvt Ltd. In a letter dated November 4, 2025, the civic body directed the withdrawal of the development permission granted to the project and ordered an immediate halt to all construction activities at the site.

Taking note of AMC’s action, RERA, invoking Section 36 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, on December 12, 2025, ordered the immediate suspension of the project’s RERA registration. As a result, all activities related to the project, including marketing, booking and sale of units, have been barred. Any such activity carried out after the suspension will be treated as a violation of RERA provisions and will attract penal action.

The order has been issued to the project promoter, Shree Takshashila Resicom Private Limited, with copies marked to the Deputy Town Development Officer (West Zone), AMC; the Sub-Registrar’s Office, Ahmedabad-3 (Memnagar); and Axis Bank’s Ahmedabad Main Branch for further necessary action.

The More Towers project comprised two towers with a total of 386 residential units, construction of which has now been halted. The project became embroiled in controversy after residents of the neighbouring Takshashila Air scheme approached GujRERA, alleging that the promoter had illegally used the society’s common plot for the construction of additional towers.

After RERA sought clarification from AMC, the civic body was compelled to cancel the permission. DeshGujarat
