Kheda: The leadership issue at Amul Dairy was resolved on Tuesday with the election of the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Kaira District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Limited, 96 days after the general body polls, bringing clarity and relief to farmers.

Sabesinh Parmar of Virpur was unanimously elected Chairman, while Vijay Patel of Dakor was chosen as Vice Chairman. The appointments were made by consensus at a meeting of the Union’s board of directors.

The newly elected office-bearers were felicitated at a gathering held at the Amul auditorium, attended by BJP MLAs, district BJP president Sanjay Patel and other party office-bearers.

The unanimous decision is expected to stabilise the leadership of one of Gujarat’s most influential dairy cooperatives.
