Surat (Rural): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today booked a Police Inspector and an advocate in a ₹3 lakh bribe case at Kim Police Station in Surat Rural district.
According to ACB officials, the complainant’s brother was booked at Kim Police Station in connection with a honey trap case, impersonation of a police officer, and extortion-related offences. The accused, Police Inspector Pravinsinh Harnath Singh Jadeja, posted at Kim Police Station, allegedly demanded a bribe for not adding stringent sections, reducing the charges, and facilitating regular bail for the complainant’s brother.
Initially, a bribe of ₹10 lakh was demanded through the accused advocate, Chiragbhai Ramanikbhai Gondaliya. After negotiations, the amount was settled at ₹3 lakh. Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the Ahmedabad City ACB Police Station and lodged a formal complaint.
