Rajkot: In a move aimed at addressing passenger convenience in tracking buses, the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has introduced an additional facility from December 15 under its Online Passenger Reservation System (OPRS). Passengers making advance reservations will now receive a live bus tracking link via SMS along with their ticket details.

Under the new facility, passengers who enter a correct mobile number while booking tickets through OPRS receive a clickable link in the confirmation message. Using this link, they can track the real-time location of their specific ST bus without needing to manually search for the bus on the website or application.

GSRTC officials said the initiative has been introduced to improve ease of access to live tracking, particularly for passengers who faced difficulty locating buses despite the system being operational. The feature is expected to benefit a large number of commuters, especially those boarding buses from intermediate stops.

Passengers can also continue to track buses through the “Track Your Bus” option available on the GSRTC website and mobile application by entering the PNR or bus number. In addition, the ‘GSRTC Live Tracking’ application provides real-time bus location details, information on nearby bus stations, and route-wise timetables.

The corporation said the new SMS-based tracking link is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance passenger convenience through technology-driven solutions. DeshGujarat DeshGujarat
