Gandhinagar: Gujarat’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue recorded strong double-digit growth in December 2025, reflecting steady economic activity and improved tax collections in the state. According to data released by the Union Finance Ministry, Gujarat’s post-settlement State GST (SGST) collection rose 12% year-on-year to ₹6,351 crore, compared to ₹5,650 crore in December 2024.

On a pre-settlement basis, Gujarat’s SGST collection stood at ₹3,549 crore in December 2025, marking a 7% increase over ₹3,328 crore collected during the same month last year.

At the national level, post-settlement SGST collections across states and Union Territories increased by 6%, rising to ₹79,584 crore in December 2025 from ₹75,355 crore a year ago. Pre-settlement SGST collections also grew by 2%, reaching ₹41,368 crore.

Among major states, Haryana (16%), Maharashtra (15%), and Uttarakhand (15%) recorded the highest growth in post-settlement SGST collections. In contrast, states such as Chhattisgarh (-28%), Jharkhand (-17%), and Odisha (-12%) saw significant year-on-year declines.

Notably, the figures are provisional and subject to revision, but the sustained growth in Gujarat’s GST revenue highlights the state’s stable consumption trends and effective tax compliance during the month. DeshGujarat
