Rajkot: In preparation for the 2nd Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the Saurashtra–Kutch region, scheduled to be held in Rajkot from January 11 to 13, government departments have intensified arrangements across the city. As part of these efforts, special facilities are being put in place at Rajkot International Airport to ensure smooth arrival and departure for delegates and visitors, while also showcasing Rajkot’s distinct identity.
According to official details, Rapido cab services will be introduced at Rajkot International Airport from January 8, keeping in view the expected surge in passenger traffic during the conference. A dedicated Rapido counter will be set up in the parking area in front of the terminal building to assist passengers, in addition to bookings through the mobile application.
Further, a snack bar will be made operational in the parking area near the terminal building. The facility will offer tea, coffee, and a variety of food items at reasonable prices for domestic and international visitors, as well as air passengers arriving in the city for the Vibrant Summit.
To highlight Rajkot’s cultural identity for guests from across the country and abroad, an “AVSAR” outlet will also be set up in the departure area of the terminal building, selling the famous Patola fabric of Gujarat. This initiative of the Airports Authority of India provides a platform for Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and local artisans to showcase and sell their unique regional products, thereby promoting local culture and women’s empowerment. Traditional handicrafts, including Patola products, will be displayed and sold at the outlet. DeshGujarat
