Bullet Train Project: Partial traffic restrictions on Cadila Bridge in Ahmedabad
January 11, 2026
Ahmedabad: Construction work related to the Ahmedabad–Mumbai bullet train project is underway between Sabarmati and Vatva, and due to this, the Ahmedabad Traffic Police has announced some restrictions for traffic on the Cadila Bridge in the city.
As per the police notification, the piloting work and segment installation for the Government of India’s bullet train project from Sabarmati to Vatva is being carried out by Dineshchandra R. Agrawal Infracon Pvt. Ltd. As part of this work, segments are to be installed on the pillars above the Cadila Bridge. This work has been in progress since 06/04/2025. However, due to technical reasons at the Cadila Bridge and because of the railway schedule, the work could not be completed within the stipulated time. Therefore, this work will now continue until 30/01/2026 and will be carried out only during night hours.
During this period, traffic diversions will be implemented. Of the three roads on the Cadila Bridge, the central BRTS corridor will remain closed from both ends for approximately 600 metres during the designated hours. BRTS buses will operate during the day using the two side roads. At night, vehicles crossing the Cadila Bridge will be allowed to use the side roads alternately, depending on the side where work is underway. Citizens are requested to take note of the traffic arrangements and cooperate. DeshGujarat
