The project includes 12 thematically designed Bullet Train stations — Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora and Vapi in Gujarat, and Boisar, Virar, Thane and Mumbai in Maharashtra.

According to NHSRCL, out of the total 508 km corridor, 332 km of viaduct construction and 415 km of pier work have been completed. A total of 17 river bridges have also been completed, including five pre-stressed concrete (PSC) bridges and 12 steel bridges.

The installation of overhead equipment (OHE) infrastructure is progressing steadily, with around 4,800 OHE masts erected, covering approximately 111 route kilometres of the mainline viaduct.

In Maharashtra’s Palghar district, breakthrough has been achieved in the first of the seven mountain tunnels. Excavation work on the remaining six tunnels is currently underway.

Further, 5 km of NATM tunnel has been excavated out of the total 21 km tunnel section between Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and Shilphata in Maharashtra.

Construction work on the rolling stock depots at Surat and Ahmedabad is progressing, while superstructure work at all stations in Gujarat has reached an advanced stage.

In Maharashtra, work has commenced on all three elevated stations, and base slab casting at the Mumbai underground station is currently in progress. DeshGujarat
