New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday presented an artistic swing crafted in Gujarat to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, during his three-hour visit to India.

The Prime Minister personally escorted the UAE President to the swing and explained its cultural significance by sitting on it together. It is believed that the Gujarat-made swing will be installed at Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s magnificent palace in Abu Dhabi.

Prime Minister Modi also gifted a Kashmiri pashmina shawl and Kashmiri saffron to Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi, while Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed was presented with a silver artistic box crafted in Telangana as part of the traditional exchange of gifts with the visiting foreign dignitary.

Following the bilateral talks between Prime Minister Modi and the UAE President, the Indian Foreign Secretary informed the media that several agreements were signed between the two nations, including three key agreements related to Gujarat.

Under these agreements, the UAE will contribute its artistic artefacts to the National Maritime Museum being developed at Lothal in Gujarat. In another major development, the setting up of offices and operations of UAE companies, First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and DP World, in GIFT City, Gujarat, was also announced.

Additionally, under the Mega Investment Plan, the UAE will assist India in developing aviation-related infrastructure at Dholera Airport, including the construction of an international airport, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities, and pilot training centres.
