Surat woman held for killing husband over abuse linked to sex-enhancing drugs

Surat: A shocking murder case has come to light from Surat’s Limbayat area, where a woman allegedly killed her husband, citing unbearable physical and mental abuse linked to his consumption of sex-enhancing drugs. The deceased, Haider Ali, worked in Mumbai and visited Surat once a month.

According to the wife, whenever Haider Ali came home, he used to consume sexual enhancement drugs and behave extremely cruelly.

As per the police, the accused wife, Ishrat Jahan, confessed that her husband would consume such drugs and subject her to extreme cruelty. Fed up with this, she allegedly mixed rat poison in turmeric milk given to him on January 1. His health deteriorated on January 5, and he died during treatment at SMIMER Hospital.

However, the murder came to light only after a dispute erupted between the wife and the deceased’s brother over burial arrangements, raising suspicion. The brother wanted to take Haider Ali’s body to his hometown in East Champaran, Bihar, for burial, while Ishrat Jahan insisted that it be done in Surat. This argument made the victim’s brother suspicious, and he later informed the police.

A postmortem was conducted, and the report revealed death due to asphyxia caused by compression of the neck and chest. The wife reportedly admitted to strangling him after he weakened. Limbayat police have arrested her and registered a murder case, while further investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
