Gujarat govt approves ₹1,371+ crore investments in chemical, agro, mineral sectors under Aatmanirbhar Gujarat-2022 scheme
January 29, 2026
Gandhinagar: With the vision of positioning Gujarat as one of the world’s most attractive investment destinations, key decisions to promote large industries were taken at a high-level committee meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi on Wednesday, an official statement said.
Under the Aatmanirbhar Gujarat-2022 scheme, final eligibility certificates were approved for three major industrial units involving a total investment of ₹1,371.38 crore. The projects are expected to generate significant direct and indirect employment across the state.
District- and sector-wise approvals include ₹491.28 crore in the chemical sector in Bharuch, ₹402.08 crore in the food and agro sector in Himmatnagar, and ₹478.02 crore in the minerals sector in Vadodara. The approved units will be eligible for incentives such as Net SGST reimbursement, interest subsidy and EPF reimbursement.
The proposals were processed through the state’s Investor Facilitation Portal (IFP), which mandates complete online submission of documents, eliminating physical touchpoints. Owing to the transparent and time-bound system, all applications were processed and approved in less than two months.
Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Dr T. Natarajan, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries and Mines) Mamata Verma, Industries Commissioner P. Swarup and Gujarat Chamber of Commerce Vice President Apoorva Shah were present at the meeting.
Textile Sector Gets Fresh Boost
In another major decision, the sixth meeting of the State Level Empowered Committee also approved 11 new textile units under the Scheme for Strengthening Specific Sectors in Textile Value Chain-2019.
The projects involve an investment of ₹668.34 crore and are expected to create around 1,478 direct jobs. The state government will extend financial assistance of approximately ₹202 crore over the next five years in the form of interest subsidy and power tariff subsidy, strengthening Gujarat’s position as a globally competitive textile hub.
