Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani inaugurates Reliance-constructed high school in Khambhaliya

Jamnagar: The newly constructed building of Shri V.H. & V.H. High School, operated by Shri Vijay Charitable Trust in the Harshadpur area of Jamkhambhaliya, was inaugurated today by Parimal Nathwani, Director (Corporate Affairs) of Reliance Industries Limited and Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha.

The school building has been constructed by Reliance Industries Limited under the guidance of Group President Dhanraj Nathwani, significantly enhancing the educational infrastructure in Khambhaliya town, a press note said.

Originally built in 1986, the old school structure had become dilapidated. To provide a safer and more convenient environment for nearly 300 students studying in Classes 9 to 12, the trust decided to reconstruct the building and approached Parimal Nathwani. Accepting the request, Reliance Industries undertook the reconstruction work as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

Constructed at a cost of ₹1.50 crore on a 10,000-square-foot plot with a built-up area of 8,100 square feet, the two-storey school building is equipped with modern classrooms, a principal’s office, staff room, NCC office, computer laboratory, library, separate sanitation blocks for boys, girls, and staff, a playground, CCTV surveillance, fire-safety systems, solar power installation, and water-conservation facilities. Sports and musical instruments have also been provided to support the holistic development of students.

Addressing the gathering, Parimal Nathwani said Reliance continues to work in areas such as education, healthcare, environment, water conservation, and women’s empowerment for the overall development of regions surrounding the Reliance refinery. He added that contributing to improved educational facilities in his hometown, Khambhaliya, was a matter of pride and happiness for him.

Dhanraj Nathwani, who provided continuous guidance and supervision during construction, also highlighted Reliance’s educational CSR initiatives. He noted that the company has previously reconstructed primary school buildings in Kana Chikari, Moti Khavdi, Pipli, Pipli Station, Navaniya, Kanalus Wadi, and in Lalwadi, Meghpar, and Ramdutnagar-Jogvad in Jamnagar, as well as high school buildings in Sikka, Moti Khavdi, and Chorwad. This newly inaugurated structure is the fourth high school in that series.

The inauguration ceremony in Khambhaliya was attended in large numbers by municipal and district panchayat representatives, trustees, government officials, members of the education community, and local residents, who expressed gratitude to Parimal Nathwani. DeshGujarat
