Road roller crushes 180 modified Bullet bike silencers in Bhavnagar
February 11, 2026
Bhavnagar: City police have launched a crackdown against rising noise pollution in the city, particularly caused by illegally modified silencers on Bullet (Royal Enfield) motorcycles.
As part of a special enforcement drive, multiple traffic police teams conducted inspections across different parts of the city. During the operation, around 181 modified silencers producing excessive noise were seized. Following a court order, the confiscated silencers were destroyed by running a road roller over them, sending a strong message against violations.
The increasing number of youths riding such vehicles and creating loud, disturbing noise had triggered widespread public anger and repeated complaints, especially from residents living along major roads.
In addition to seizing the silencers, police also initiated penal and legal proceedings against the owners of the modified motorcycles. Officials stated that any activity contributing to noise pollution would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Police officials confirmed that the crackdown will continue in the future to maintain public peace and order. Authorities warned that if motorcycle owners fail to remove illegal silencers voluntarily, enforcement action will be taken and the destruction of such equipment will continue. DeshGujarat
