AUDA building 12-km road to connect SP Ring Road to Kalol; 50% work complete
February 12, 2026
Ahmedabad: With the expansion of the city towards Sanand on one side and Kalol on the other, a 12-km road from Jaspur–Khodiyar to Kalol is being constructed by the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) at an estimated cost of ₹80 crore. Around 50% of the work has been completed, while the remaining portion will proceed after government approval of TP Scheme 16.
Once completed, the road will provide easier access to Kalol from the S.P. Ring Road, eliminating the need to travel via Adalaj from the eastern parts of the city. The 60-metre-wide road, along with footpaths, is expected to ease movement for both motorists and pedestrians.
An AUDA official stated that the new link road will reduce travel time between the SP Ring Road in Ahmedabad and Kalol to about five minutes. The project will benefit nearly one lakh commuters and is expected to be completed within the next six months. Officials believe the improved connectivity will boost real estate demand in Kalol.
Wider road network planned in Kalol
Kalol is being developed as a satellite township, with plans to implement 18- to 45-metre-wide roads across the area. Improved connectivity with Ahmedabad will make travel easier to localities such as Satellite, Thaltej, Sarkhej and Bodakdev. Enhanced government transport connectivity is also expected to strengthen infrastructure development in Kalol. DeshGujarat
