AMC to host AmdavadNXT Public Mobility Exhibition at Riverfront House
February 13, 2026
Ahmedabad: In view of Ahmedabad’s preparations to position itself on the global stage with the upcoming 2030 Commonwealth Games, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will host AmdavadNXT, a three-day public exhibition and convening from 21–23 February 2026 at Riverfront House, Ahmedabad.
AMC is initiating this platform to strengthen public transport as a key component of an inclusive, people-centric, and climate-resilient mobility system. The initiative aims to facilitate informed public dialogue and stakeholder engagement through an interactive display of Ahmedabad’s future mobility.
This one-of-a-kind initiative is being organised by AMC under the SHIFT Transport coalition, in partnership with WRI India, TUL Foundation, UrbanVoices, aProCh, MYBYK, and other stakeholders.
On the importance of AmdavadNXT, Municipal Commissioner Banchhanidhi Pani, IAS, said,
“As Ahmedabad continues to grow as an economic and cultural hub with a global future, our mobility systems must evolve in tandem. AmdavadNXT is an important step towards bringing together institutions, experts, and citizens to collectively envision a public transport system that is safe, inclusive, and sustainable. By strengthening integration, accessibility, and public engagement, we aim to make public transport the backbone of Ahmedabad’s urban future.”
“We invite all educational institutions to bring their students to AmdavadNXT. The exhibition, with interactive sessions and games, will prove to be a learning opportunity for students,” he added.
The exhibition and convening will present Ahmedabad’s public transport journey and future opportunities through maps, infographics, multimedia installations, and interactive tools, along with panel discussions and fireside chats, to make transport planning more accessible to citizens. It will also feature best practices in mobility from other cities in Gujarat, startups working on city and civic issues, and a life-size model of the UNESCO World Heritage Walled City of Ahmedabad.
AmdavadNXT will bring together government departments, urban practitioners, academic institutions, civil society organisations, students, and citizens to reflect on Ahmedabad’s mobility journey and identify pathways for improvement.
As per the civic body, AmdavadNXT is envisioned as:
• A campaign to position public transport and non-motorised transport as preferred and aspirational modes of travel in Ahmedabad.
• An exhibition showcasing the city’s mobility evolution from AMTS to BRTS to Metro, along with best practices, data insights, and a shared vision for the future, as well as leading mobility and urban practices from other cities in Gujarat.
• A convening of policymakers, planners, designers, academics, operators, startups, and citizens to deliberate on key challenges and emerging opportunities in public transport.
• A platform for students, young professionals, and communities to learn, engage, and imagine a people-centric mobility future.
The event will be open to all citizens of Ahmedabad. DeshGujarat
