Surat: A special traffic checking drive was conducted in the Mandarwaja area between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm on Tuesday by Surat Traffic Police in coordination with RTO officials. During the two-hour operation, around 60 vehicles fitted with unauthorised bright white LED lights were detected. Legal penal action was taken against motorists found violating traffic rules.
Drivers were also strictly warned to use only standard headlights as per regulations and to refrain from installing illegal lighting in the future.
Traffic police officials stated that similar drives will continue in different parts of the city. The department appealed to citizens to understand that excessively bright LED lights installed for appearance or style can pose serious risks to other road users. Following traffic rules is everyone’s responsibility, and public cooperation is essential for ensuring road safety. DeshGujarat
