Ambaji: In a significant act of devotion and philanthropy, Anant Ambani, son of Reliance CMD Mukesh Ambani, has donated ₹27.5 crore to the Ambaji Temple to support the “Jai Ambe Tithi Bhojan Yojana.” The contribution will help provide free meals to the thousands of pilgrims who visit the holy shrine every day.

The Jai Ambe Tithi Bhojan Yojana has been launched with the objective of ensuring that no devotee visiting Ambaji goes hungry. On the very first day, February 18, the scheme received an overwhelming public response, with total contributions exceeding ₹30 crore. Anant Ambani emerged as the principal benefactor, and his donation has been earmarked to cover the cost of the meal service for the next five years.

Key details of the scheme

Daily cost: Providing free meals twice a day to all visiting devotees has been fixed at ₹1,51,000 per day.

Community participation: Pilgrims are encouraged to donate in honour of special occasions such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries, or in memory of loved ones.

Among other major donors, a devotee from Ahmedabad contributed ₹52 lakh to sponsor meals for 35 specific days, including all Purnimas and the full nine days of both the Aso and Chaitri Navratri festivals.

During the launch event, the District Collector, representing the Ambaji Devasthan Trust, thanked Anant Ambani and the Reliance Foundation for their generous support. All major donors present at the ceremony were formally honoured by the Ambaji Temple Trust.

The initiative ensures that “Maa ka Prasad” is available to every devotee in the form of a complete and nutritious meal provided free of charge, further enriching the spiritual experience of pilgrims visiting the Ambaji shrine. DeshGuarat
