Gandhinagar: Following the inauguration of India’s first large-scale ATMP facility by Micron Technology in Sanand, CG Semi Private Limited is preparing to commence commercial operations at its own plant, chairman G. C. Chaturvedi announced while addressing the Gujarat SemiConnect Conference 2026.
He stated that CG Semi completed construction of its first Sanand facility in August 2025 and plans to begin commercial production later this year. As per a ToI report, the Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) unit is likely to start commercial production within the next six weeks.
The company’s second plant, scheduled for commissioning in 2027, is expected to raise the combined annual production capacity to approximately 4 billion chips. These chips will primarily serve the automotive sector, industrial infrastructure, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
CG Semi, a joint venture of CG Power and Industrial Solutions with Japan’s Renesas Electronics Corporation and Thailand’s Stars Microelectronics, is investing over ₹7,600 crore to set up two advanced packaging and testing units (G1 and G2) in Sanand. DeshGujarat
