New Delhi: The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, on Thursday accepted the resignation of Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose, Governor of West Bengal. Along with this, the President also appointed nine new Governors and Lieutenant Governors.

Here is the list of new appointments:

(i) Shiv Pratap Shukla, Governor of Himachal Pradesh, has been appointed as Governor of Telangana.

(ii) Jishnu Dev Varma, Governor of Telangana, has been appointed as Governor of Maharashtra.

(iii) Nand Kishore Yadav has been appointed as Governor of Nagaland.

(iv) Lt. General (Retired) Syed Ata Hasnain has been appointed as Governor of Bihar.

(v) R.N. Ravi, Governor of Tamil Nadu, has been appointed as Governor of West Bengal.

(vi) Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Governor of Kerala, will discharge the functions of the Governor of Tamil Nadu.

(vii) Kavinder Gupta, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, has been appointed as Governor of Himachal Pradesh.

(viii) Vinai Kumar Saxena, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, has been appointed as Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.

(ix) Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been appointed as Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.

The above appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.

Notably, with the appointment of a new Governor of Maharashtra, the Governor of Gujarat, who is currently holding additional charge of the state, will be relieved of this responsibility and will continue to serve solely as the Governor of Gujarat. DeshGujarat
