Ahmedabad: Flight operations between Ahmedabad and several West Asian destinations remained partially disrupted on Monday as tensions continue in the region amid the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran, now in its 17th day. Although some services have resumed, several arrivals and departures to Gulf countries were cancelled at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA).
On Monday, an Emirates flight to Dubai departed from Ahmedabad, while an Etihad Airways flight to Abu Dhabi is scheduled to take off later in the evening. An Air Arabia flight to Sharjah also operated in the morning, indicating partial restoration of services after earlier widespread cancellations.
However, around eight flights to and from Gulf destinations remained cancelled during the day. Among the cancelled arrivals were IndiGo flight 6E-1432 from Abu Dhabi, Kuwait Airways flight KU-347 from Kuwait City, Etihad Airways flight EY-246 from Abu Dhabi, IndiGo flight 6E-076 from Jeddah and Qatar Airways flight QR-534 from Doha.
Several departures were also cancelled, including Etihad Airways flight EY-247 to Abu Dhabi, Qatar Airways flight QR-534 to Doha and IndiGo flight 6E-1477 to Dubai. Airport sources said flight schedules are being adjusted frequently depending on the situation in West Asia and airline advisories.
While some flights have started operating again, uncertainty remains, and passengers have been advised to check with airlines before travelling. DeshGujarat
