Ahmedabad-Mumbai Vande Bharat to Continue with 20 Coaches; Extra Coach Added to Karnavati Express

Surat: Earlier this month, the Railways increased the number of coaches in the Ahmedabad–Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express to 20. The extension, which was initially allowed till March 31, has now been further extended for the month of April. The Railways has also announced temporary changes in the operation of the Karnavati Express, including the addition of an extra coach.

It is learnt that Train No. 22961/22962 Ahmedabad–Mumbai Central–Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express, which has been operating with 20 coaches after the addition of four extra coaches, will continue to run with the same composition from April 1 to April 27, 2026.

Meanwhile, Train No. 12933/12934 Mumbai Central–Vatva Karnavati Express, which is currently operating from Bandra Terminus (BDTS) instead of Mumbai Central, will now have an additional AC Chair Car coach (LWSCZAC) for the convenience of passengers, increasing the total number of coaches from 21 to 22.

The railway administration has requested passengers to take note of the temporary changes and plan their journey accordingly. DeshGujarat
