AAP Leaders, Workers Held in Khambhaliya Released on Bail

Devbhoomi Dwarka: Hours after he was detained by the Khambhaliya Police, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Gujarat state president Isudan Gadhvi, along with 17 others, was released on bail. The police action was taken against around 30 individuals, including AAP leaders, for allegedly obstructing police duty and creating a disturbance at the police station.

The incident dates back to March 31, when Gadhvi and other AAP workers reached the police station to represent a Bihar-based AAP worker, Deepak, who had been arrested in connection with a robbery case. Party leaders alleged that the case against him was fabricated.

However, the situation escalated during the interaction. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Vismay Manseta, members of the group allegedly misbehaved with police personnel on duty and attempted to create unrest, including going live on social media. Despite repeated appeals by the police to maintain order, the situation turned chaotic.

Subsequently, a case was registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges related to obstruction of public duty.

Police have named around 30 individuals in the case, including district AAP president Ramjibhai Parmar and several party workers. Eighteen of the accused were taken into custody before being granted bail. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing. DeshGujarat
