Helmetless Riders, Wrong-Side Entry: CCTV Footage of Fatal Accident in Surat Goes Viral

Surat: A fatal road accident captured on CCTV has sparked fresh concerns over traffic discipline and road safety. The incident occurred at a busy crossroads near Parvat Patia in the city, where a two-wheeler carrying two persons was struck by a moving bus.

The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Gajendrakumar Jain, a resident of Rajasthan, who was riding the two-wheeler. His friend, Chandraprakash Jain, who was riding pillion, sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The CCTV footage of the incident indicates multiple traffic violations. The two-wheeler is seen entering the intersection from the wrong side, while neither of the riders was wearing a helmet. Additionally, a stationary rickshaw was occupying a significant portion of the road, potentially contributing to reduced maneuvering space.
