Shahibaug Underpass to Remain Partially Shut for 5 Days; Traffic Diversions in Place

Ahmedabad: Commuters travelling to the airport via the Shahibaug underpass will have to take alternate routes, as the underpass will remain closed to all vehicular traffic from today till Tuesday between 12 pm and 5 pm.

The restriction has been imposed due to ongoing repair and maintenance work by the Ahmedabad division of Western Railway. Authorities stated that all entry and exit points of the underbridge will be shut during the specified hours, and motorists are advised to follow diversion routes to avoid congestion in the Shahibaug area.

Traffic approaching from Delhi Darwaza and Subhash Bridge towards the airport or Gandhinagar will be diverted at the end of Subhash Bridge near Shilalekh Flats. Vehicles will then be directed via the riverfront road and routed through Dafnala towards the airport and Gandhinagar.

Meanwhile, traffic coming from the Airport-Gandhinagar side can use the Dafnala riverfront route to access different parts of the city. Commuters heading towards Asarwa, Girdharnagar, Delhi Darwaza, and Kalupur can travel via Shahibaug and cross the Mahapragyaji Bridge.

Vehicles moving from Girdharnagar and Asarwa towards Gandhinagar or the airport will be diverted through Shahibaug, Circuit House, and the Army Cantonment Road, from where they can proceed towards the airport, Indira Bridge, and Gandhinagar.

Traffic police have appealed to commuters to adhere to the diversion plan and factor in additional travel time during the closure period. DeshGujarat
