Gandhinagar to Host BRICS Meet on May 11-12; PM Modi Likely to Attend

Gandhinagar: The state capital is set to host a key international meeting of the BRICS nations on May 11 and 12, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi likely to attend the event on May 11.

According to reports, the meeting is expected to be held at The Leela hotel in Gandhinagar, marking another significant diplomatic engagement for the state following recent high-level discussions in New Delhi. Officials indicated that the Prime Minister’s presence would add considerable weight to the gathering and enhance its strategic importance.

BRICS is an intergovernmental organisation comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. India currently holds the chairmanship, and the annual BRICS summit is scheduled to be held in the country later this year.

It is learnt that the agenda for the Gandhinagar meeting is likely to focus on global policy direction, economic cooperation, emerging technologies, innovation and future development frameworks. The discussions are expected to gain added significance amid evolving global dynamics, with an emphasis on strengthening coordination among member nations.
