PM Modi Likely to Visit Gujarat on May 11

Gandhinagar/Vadodara: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit his home state of Gujarat on May 11, with programmes planned in Vadodara and Gandhinagar.
In Vadodara, the Prime Minister is expected to inaugurate the Sardar Dham Hostel, a ₹150-crore residential and educational complex built by the Patidar community near Knowledge City on National Highway-8 along Waghodia Road. The facility, equipped with modern amenities, has the capacity to accommodate around 2,000 students.
The inauguration ceremony is slated for 4:30 pm and will be held near the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Prime Minister may also inaugurate the Dr. Dushyant and Daksha Patel Complex as part of the programme.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi are expected to attend the event. A large turnout of members from the Patidar community across Central Gujarat is anticipated. Preparations are underway on a war footing, with elaborate security and traffic arrangements being put in place along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway stretch.
Meanwhile, Gandhinagar is set to host a key meeting of the BRICS nations on May 11 and 12, with the Prime Minister likely to attend proceedings on May 11. The meeting is expected to be held at The Leela hotel in Gandhinagar and is being seen as a significant diplomatic engagement for the state.
BRICS comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, with India currently holding the chairmanship. The upcoming discussions are expected to focus on global policy direction, economic cooperation, emerging technologies, innovation and future development frameworks.
