PM Narendra Modi to Visit Somnath Mandir on May 11

Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat on May 10–11. During the visit, he will perform darshan and pooja at Somnath Mandir in Prabhas Patan, where Somnath Swabhiman Parv is being celebrated to mark the 75th anniversary of the temple’s restoration.

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, authorities have intensified preparations. As part of this, a high-level review meeting was held at the District Seva Sadan under the chairmanship of District Collector N.V. Upadhyay. Senior officials from various departments were instructed to ensure seamless arrangements for the Prime Minister’s darshan and associated programmes.

Officials have been directed to complete all arrangements within stipulated timelines, including the development of a helipad, uninterrupted power supply, traffic regulation, parking management, and sanitation along the designated routes. Barricading and other logistical measures are also being put in place to facilitate smooth movement during the visit.

The administration in Somnath has been placed on alert mode, with extensive security arrangements planned. Police deployment is expected to be strengthened to ensure foolproof security during the Prime Minister’s visit.

Separate high-level meetings were also held in Gandhinagar to coordinate administrative and security planning for the entire visit, during which the Prime Minister is slated to attend several events in Gandhinagar, Vadodara, and Somnath.

The state government is gearing up for the visit, which is expected to draw significant attention given the religious importance of Somnath and the milestone anniversary celebrations. DeshGujarat
