40K Patidars Set to Attend Sardar Dham Inauguration in Vadodara
May 02, 2026
Ahmedabad: A large-scale inauguration ceremony of Sardar Dham in Vadodara is set to take place this month, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to address the Patidar community on May 11.
Organisers said the “Mission 2026” vision, conceived in 2018, aimed at increasing representation of Patidars in government services—from gram sevaks to collectors and from constables to IPS officers—has been steadily pursued with sustained community efforts. The initiative targets the recruitment of 10,000 Patidars into government positions by 2026.
As part of this vision, a modern student facility has been developed at the Sardar Dham Dr Dushyant and Daksha Patel complex in central Gujarat. Preparations for the Prime Minister’s event are in full swing, with the venue expected to be ready by the 5th.
Organisers said extensive round-the-clock work is underway to prepare the venue for an estimated gathering of 40,000 Patidars. Heavy machinery, including tractors and JCBs, is being deployed to expedite the preparations.
The event, scheduled between 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm, will be reviewed by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi during a visit on Sunday. A large dining facility has also been set up to accommodate attendees, with special arrangements in place.
While previous Sardar Dham facilities in Ahmedabad were inaugurated virtually by the Prime Minister, he will be physically present for the inauguration of the central Gujarat complex. DeshGujarat
