Rs 56 Crore Bhogavo Riverfront Phase-3 Project Launched in Surendranagar

Surendranagar: Wadhwan MLA and Deputy Chief Whip of the Gujarat Assembly Jagdishbhai Makwana on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for several development projects worth around Rs 64 crore in Surendranagar, including the Phase-3 development of the Bhogavo Riverfront and the renovation of Rambhaben Town Hall.

The Phase-3 riverfront project, estimated at Rs 56 crore, will cover nearly a 3-km stretch along the Bhogavo River from behind the bus stand to Gebansha Pir in Wadhwan. The project is expected to create a scenic and accessible public space for residents while enhancing the city’s landscape and civic infrastructure.

In addition, the renovation and modernisation of Rambhaben Town Hall will be undertaken at a cost of around Rs 8 crore. Addressing the gathering, Makwana said the town hall, considered a key centre for social and cultural activities in Surendranagar, would be upgraded with modern facilities to provide citizens with a quality venue for cultural and community programmes.

Speaking about the riverfront initiative, Makwana said the third phase of the project had been launched following the successful completion of the first two phases. He added that the development works would help enhance the city’s identity and provide better recreational facilities for residents. DeshGujarat
