Gujarat Govt Announces Change in Bakri Eid Public Holiday

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has revised the public holiday for Bakri Eid in state government offices, boards, corporations, panchayats and banks, shifting it from May 27 to May 28, 2026.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the holiday was earlier scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, as per the official holiday calendar for 2026. It has now been rescheduled to Thursday, May 28.
As a result, all state government offices, boards, corporations, panchayats and banks across Gujarat will function as usual on Wednesday, May 27.
The department stated that the annual list of public holidays for 2026 was originally notified on November 27, 2025, and the latest revision has been made accordingly. DeshGujarat
