Scorching Heat Continues Across Gujarat, Multiple Cities Record Above 40°C

Ahmedabad: Heatwave-like conditions continued across parts of Gujarat on Friday, with several inland districts recording maximum temperatures above 40°C and remaining above normal levels.
Surendranagar emerged as the hottest location in the state, recording a maximum temperature of 43.8°C, which was 1.3 degrees above normal. Ahmedabad followed closely at 43.3°C, while Gandhinagar recorded 43°C and Rajkot 42.9°C, around 2.1 degrees above normal.
Amreli registered 42.3°C, Deesa 41.6°C and Vadodara 41.4°C, while Bhuj recorded 40.5°C and Kandla touched 40°C. Temperatures across these regions remained 1–4 degrees above seasonal averages, indicating persistent heat conditions in interior parts of the state.
In contrast, coastal areas remained comparatively cooler due to maritime influence. Veraval recorded the lowest maximum temperature among major stations at 32.5°C, followed by Dwarka at 33.4°C, Okha at 34.2°C and Porbandar at 34.5°C.
Night temperatures also remained above normal in several cities. Ahmedabad and Surendranagar recorded minimum temperatures of 29.2°C, while Vadodara saw a low of 29.6°C and Veraval recorded 29.7°C.
No rainfall was reported from any of the major weather stations in the state during the period, according to weather department data. DeshGujarat
