New Route of Sabarmati – Veraval Vande Bharat Express to Cut Travel Time Despite More Stops

Sabarmati: The Railway Board has approved changes to the route of the Sabarmati BG–Veraval Vande Bharat Express. The train, which currently travels via the Rajkot route, will soon run via the Botad route.

So, does the change in route make the journey time shorter for passengers or longer? The answer is that the new route will take less time than the previous one.

As per the new route, train no. 26901 will leave Sabarmati at 6:00 am and reach Veraval at 12:50 pm, taking 6 hours and 50 minutes for the journey.

On the current route, the train leaves Sabarmati at 5:25 am and reaches Veraval at 12:25 pm, taking 7 hours for the journey.

So, the new route will save 10 minutes for travellers journeying from Ahmedabad to Veraval.

Meanwhile, on the return journey, the train currently takes 6 hours and 50 minutes after departing from Veraval at 2:45 pm and reaching Sabarmati at 9:35 pm.

Now, as per the new route, the train no. 26902 will depart from Veraval at 3:50 pm and reach Sabarmati at 10:25 pm, taking a travel time of 6 hours and 35 minutes.

In this case, passengers will save even more time, as the journey duration will be reduced by 15 minutes.

What is even better for the passengers is that the new route will serve more stations than the previous one and yet will be faster.

On the previous route, the five stations apart from the origin and terminating stations were Viramgam, Surendranagar, Wankaner, Rajkot and Junagadh. Under the new route, the train will serve seven intermediate stations: Gandhigram, Dholka, Dhandhuka, Botad, Dhola, Dhasa and Junagadh. DeshGujarat
