Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has imposed traffic restrictions on key roads in the western and eastern zones due to various infrastructure works. The road from D-Cabin Underpass to Chenpur in the western zone will remain closed from June 19 to June 25, while in the eastern zone, a service road of about two kilometers from Naroda Galaxy Underpass to Naroda Patiya will be closed for heavy vehicles, including ST, AMTS, and BRTS buses, for the next nine months.

According to the AMC’s engineering department, work is being carried out to lay a rising main line on the road from D-Cabin Underpass to Chenpur in the Ranip ward. It has been decided to keep the road closed for about seven days until the work is completed. During this period, two-wheelers, light motor vehicles, and other motorists will have to use alternative routes.

Motorists wishing to travel from D-Cabin Underpass to New Ranip via Chenpur will be able to go via Kaligam and Khodiyar Temple in New Ranip. To travel towards Chenpur, they can reach the area via the Kaligam–New Ranip–Khodiyar Temple road or through the Tragad Underpass via Godrej Garden City.

In addition, work has started to lay trunk main drainage lines using trenchless technology to solve drainage issues on the Naroda–Narol Highway in the eastern zone. As part of this work, micro-tunneling will be carried out on the service road from Naroda Mahavir Swami Jain Derasar to Galaxy Underpass, Naroda Bethak, and Naroda Patiya.

Due to this, the approximately two-km stretch from Naroda Galaxy Underpass to Naroda Patiya will remain closed to heavy vehicles, including GSRTC, AMTS, and BRTS buses, from June 19 for the next nine months or until the work is completed. However, the service road will remain open for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and other light vehicles.

The AMC has appealed to the public to use the designated alternative routes in view of the traffic diversions and to cooperate during the work. DeshGujarat.
