Railway Board Approves Shift of Three Trains from Sabarmati to Gandhigram Station in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: In a major boost to connectivity for Gandhigram Railway Station in the city, the Railway Board has approved the shifting of the terminal point of three pairs of express trains from Sabarmati Railway Station to Gandhigram Railway Station. The trains will now originate from and terminate at Gandhigram and will also halt at Chandkheda Road station en route.
According to an order issued by the Railway Board on June 19, 2026, the terminal of 14821/14822 Jodhpur-Sabarmati Express, 12547/12548 Agra Cantt-Sabarmati Express, and 22547/22548 Gwalior-Sabarmati Express will be changed from Sabarmati to Gandhigram. Western Railway has been directed to implement the change from a suitable date.
The Railway Board has also instructed Western Railway to give wide publicity to the changes and, if required, operate the initial service as a special train. The move is expected to benefit passengers travelling to and from the central parts of Ahmedabad as the station is in the main city and is well connected with public transport. DeshGujarat
